Cook for a Cure

As most of you know, my sister Debbie is still battling her breast cancer.   After years of being cancer free, she is still fighting for her life and the ability to live it.  Twice now, in the past 2 years it has threatened to take her from us.  Doctors have told us and her both times  that she would not be leaving the hospital or there was nothing they could do, but she has proved them wrong both times and is still with us and once again fighting.

With that being said, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and KitchenAid is doing something pretty special that I wanted all of you to know about.

During 2009, KitchenAid is proud to donate a minimum of $500,000 to Susan G. Kormen for the Cure in conjunction with its pink product collection.  In order to generate a donation, consumers must go to CookfortheCure.com to register each pink product purchased.

KitchenAid donates more than 10% of the purchase price for the following items: the pink Artisan Series Stand Mixer (retails for $349.99 provides a $50 donation); and the pink ribbon apron and the “I Cook for My Mom” apron (both retail for $19.95 and provide a %$5 donation).

Pass The Plate” lets you and your friends be a part of a life-saving mission.
