- 4 Chicken Breasts (or two can of cooked chicken)
- 1 can celery soup (or mushroom, or cream of celery works too)
- Sour Cream
- Poppy Seeds
- Ritz Crackers
Cook chicken breasts first by boiling, broiling or baking (you could probably even grill it too – ???)
Cut cooked chicken into small pieces and place on bottom of casserole dish. Mix 1 can of soup and then the SAME amount of sour cream together in a bowl (and you probably thought I forgot to say how much sour cream – hee….hee….). Add a generous amount of poppy seeds. Mix well and pour over chicken. Crumble a generous amount of Ritz crackers and sprinkle on top. Place several pieces of butter on top of crackers.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes
Not sure who gave me this recipe, but I’ll bet almost EVERYONE out there has some version or another of this favorite American classic.
