Poppy Seed Bread

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Poppy Seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/8 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract

Mix all ingredients together and pour into 2 9×5 inch grease loaf pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 min.

Glaze:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

Mix together glaze ingredients and spoon over bread after removed from oven.  Let coon in pans for about 15  minutes and remove and place on cooling racks.
