- 1 1/2 packages of dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (105 – 115 degrees)
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 – 3 Tbls finely chopped fresh basil 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups flour, (about)
- olive oil
Combine yeast, warm water and sugar and let stand 5 minutes.
Add basil, cornmeal, cheese, 2 cups flour and salt (to taste). Stir until mixture holds together and can be kneaded. Knead on lightly floured surface 1 minute.
Place in large oiled bowl, turning to oil entire surface. Cover and let rise in worm place (room temp – 85 degrees) 1/2 hour.
Punch and roll out dough to desired thickness, top with choice of toppings and bake. YUM!
